Each year, between eight and 12 trainees begin their careers at Raffinerie Heide.
Our professional traineeships for the roles of chemical operator, electronics engineer for automation technology and industrial business management assistant provide our trainees with a wide variety of training opportunities, ensuring they lay the foundations necessary for success in their careers.

Countless tributes from the best students are testament to the success of the company’s professional training programme, from both a trainee and company perspective, over the many years it has been running.

Chemical Engineering Trainee

I live very close to Heide – so the refinery is practically on my doorstep. I learnt about the training opportunities on offer at the refinery’s open house day in summer 2013. I found it very interesting, so I did a one-week work placement later that year in October.

Because I really enjoyed the range of tasks in this field, I applied for a chemical operator traineeship, was accepted, and joined the company on 1 September 2014. It’s exciting to learn about all the processes taking place in the refinery, especially the ones you can’t see from the outside. You need to know what’s going on in the various installations, otherwise you’re in the wrong place. Safety takes number one priority in all this.

From 1 September 2018, we will be offering training for the following professions:

  • Chemical engineer
  • Electronics engineer for automation technology

The deadline for applications is 30 September 2017.

We will be offering the training programme as an industrial business manager (m/f) from 1 September 2019 again.
